Cornerstone - Campus Crusade at UNC

Last night, I went to Cru at UNC with a friend from HS. I had a great time. Met a lot of people. Everyone was very friendly. There were a lot of things I really liked about it. They started out with some worship which is always great. Whenever the praise band was singing, they dimmed all the lights so that all you could see were the screens with the words on them. I really liked that. There focus on Christ our Lord seemed so purposeful and the structure definitely backed that up. The second thing I liked the most was the message. I forgot the name of the guy who spoke. But the topic was The Will of God. I am going to post a few things he talked about that I really liked. The passage he selected was Proverbs 3:5-6.

The will of God deals in three main realms. The spiritual, relationship, and financial. Examples of specifics in these categories are prayer, loving others, and wise stewardship.

God has no plan B and you cannot mess up God’s will. God is more concerned with us than he is with what we do. When we jump, God is never distracted and he always will and is always willing to catch us.

He also structured his study of the passage into four basic sections:

  1. Relational trust us built in small steps over time (v.5a)
  2. Our intellect apart from God will not lead us rightly. (v.5b; “If we are right in the ways of the world we are probably doing something wrong.” -Francis Chan, “Crazy Love”)
  3. God wants in on everything in our lives. An intimate acquaintance with Him is necessary.
  4. God’s Word doesn’t tell us what to do; however, when we learn to trust Him with all our heart, he will guide us down His path, wherever it may take us.

Hope you all enjoy! Think of coming out to Cru next week if you missed it this week. It was a great time!
