Wrongdoing, misconduct, or misbehavior.

Malfeasance comes from the Old French word malfaisance. Derived from malfaire or maufaire, it is the present participle form of this word which means “to do evil.” Its roots can be futher traced back to the Latin word male facere which mean “evily” and “do, make,” respectively.

Example: In government, there is often of plentitude of malfeasance.
