Last night, I went to Cru at UNC with a friend from HS. I had a great time. Met a lot of people. Everyone was very friendly. There were a lot of things I really liked about it. Defective nouns?
Ever wonder why words such as “pants”, “shorts”, and “scissors” are always plural but refer to one object? Wonder no more. These words are referred to as defective nouns or more accurately plurale tantum, Latin for plural only. These words are never seen in a singular form because they do not have one.
